LSCP collecting SBA disaster loan applications

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Lake Superior Community Partnership is accepting preliminary applications for Small Business Administration disaster assistance loans.

Businesses across Michigan are heading into the second week of shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The SBA has been directed to provide loans to those undergoing financial hardship.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is gathering information about losses in order to request an economic disaster declaration for the entire state. The LSCP says actual losses will be difficult to determine, but officials can make a strong estimate for the first month of loss.

Potential losses include loss of sales, increase in payroll due to staff taking sick time, and unplanned expenses to offset public fear or to ensure public safety.
