MARINETTE, WI-- President Donald Trump will visit Fincantieri Marinette Marine Thursday, after the shipbuilder was awarded a multi-billion-dollar Navy contract.
Trump is expected to tour the facility around 3:40 p.m. Central Time, then deliver remarks around 4 p.m.
Marinette Marine will construct guided-missile frigates. The contract for the first ship and options for up to nine others would be worth $5.5 billion if all options are exercised.
The contract is expected to create about one thousand additional jobs at the Wisconsin shipyard. A number of Upper Peninsula residents also work there.
