Marquette's first cannabis store opens

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette’s first cannabis retail store opened on Washington Street Monday.

Locally owned, The Fire Station is open to recreational customers 21 years or older. Their first provisioning center opened in Negaunee last November. Co-owner Stosh Wasik says plans are already in the works for a Houghton fire station. He says property was purchased there in August.

He notes they’re working on deals for three more locations across the Upper Peninsula and there may be more beyond that.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
