Motis to locate manufacturing center in Escanaba

ESCANABA, MI— A Southern California business has received a Michigan grant to bring operations to Delta County.

Founded in Escanaba in 2004, Race Ramps was acquired by Motis, LLC—a producer of products for the powersport, medical, recreational, military, and industry market. Motis plans to establish a specialty manufacturing center in Escanaba. It will use advanced polyurethane materials to form various hoses and cords that are used to protect equipment that transports liquids and electricity.

The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $675,000 and create up to nine jobs, with the support of a $75,000 Micro Michigan Business Development Program grant.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
