Eagle Mine partners with Talon Metals on UP exploration project

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— Eagle Mine parent company Lundin Mining is partnering with Talon Metals of Minnesota to conduct exploration drilling at Marquette County’s Boulderdash site and nearby properties.

Boulderdash is just over seven miles northwest of Eagle.

The mine will finance drilling activities in exchange for an earn-in agreement in the potential resources identified. Lundin has advanced Talon $5 million to, among other things, start drilling at Boulderdash.

Lundin will negotiate the right to acquire up to 70 percent ownership interest of the site, and potentially a 90 percent interest in adjacent properties.

The maiden drill hole made at Boulderdash last year found traces of nickel and copper.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
