DEARBORN, MI— Gas prices in Michigan are the exact same as this time last week.

Michigan drivers are paying an average of $3.04 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 3 cents less than this time last month and 55 cents less than this time last year.

Motorists are paying an average of $45 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; a discount of about $12 from 2024's highest price last July.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.87 million b/d to 9.18. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 246.8 million barrels to 241.1, leaving them slightly below seasonal averages. Gasoline production also decreased, averaging 9.6 million barrels per day.

At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, WTI increased $1.43 to settle at $67.68 a barrel. The EIA reports that crude oil inventories decreased by 1.4 million barrels from the previous week. At 435.2 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 5% below the five-year average for this time of year.

"With the state average holding steady, Michigan drivers are seeing similar pump prices to this time last week," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group.

Compared to last week, Metro Detroit’s average daily gas price held steady. Metro Detroit’s current average is $3.03 per gallon, which is the same price as last week’s average and 51 cents less than this same time last year.
