CHASSELL TOWNSHIP, MI— The Michigan Strategic Fund Board has approved a $1.5 million grant to construct a housing project in Chassell Township.
The development will consist of 22 residential units with rents estimated at 70 to 80 percent of the Area Median Income. It will also include a 1,890 square-foot commercial space the developer intends to lease to a restaurant operator, along with an elevator and a parking garage.
T & J Properties of Chassell is the developer of the project, which will be built on land bank-owned property on Wilson Memorial Drive.
Officials anticipate construction will begin early this summer and be completed by spring of 2026.
