MEDC

LANSING, MI— The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is giving grants to six U.P. businesses through its Match on Main program.

The program serves as a tool to support new or expanding place-based businesses by providing up to $25,000 in funding for them to launch or grow in core downtown areas and commercial districts.

$25,000 grants are going to:

  • Cork & Beans (Houghton) – a downtown wine lounge with small plates.
  • Yoopers Uncorked (Ironwood) – a retail and bar experience for artisan spirits.
  • Bluff Street Station (Marquette) – renovating a historic building for weddings and events.
  • Samara Floral Co. (Negaunee) – transforming a historic storefront into a floral and gift shop.
  • Lake Effect Distillery (Escanaba) – creating a welcoming outdoor garden-style seating area.
  • Upper Peninsula Inspired (Munising) – finishing a new beer garden and outdoor space.

A total of 63 businesses across the state received funding from the MEDC Match on Main program.
