Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport to offer United flights to Chicago

MARQUETTE, MI— New air service is coming to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport.

Beginning May 21 of next year, United Airlines will operate three daily flights between Marquette and Chicago O’Hare on a Bombardier CRJ-550 aircraft.

Airport Manager David Erhart says the new service will provide enhanced connectivity for U.P. travelers to one of the nation’s largest airline hubs and will offer access to hundreds of domestic and international destinations through United’s extensive network.

He says the new flights underscore the growing demand for convenient, reliable air travel in the Upper Peninsula and reflects United Airlines’ commitment to connecting smaller communities with major global markets.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
