SAWYER, MI— United Airlines service from Chicago to Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport has been delayed yet again.
That’s due to the extension of the Federal Aviation Administration’s flight schedule cap at O’Hare. Last month, the FAA announced an extension to the departure restrictions at ORD that were originally instituted in May.
The additional extension limits O’Hare departure capacity through October 31 of next year. It has been implemented primarily to limit congestion during ongoing construction projects expected to last through Summer 2027.
As a result, United is delaying the start of its inaugural Chicago to Marquette service and intends to start service from O’Hare once the FAA order expires.
