Marquette Regional History Center presents: Houses on the Move: The Neighborhood Before MGH
Marquette Regional History Center presents: Houses on the Move: The Neighborhood Before MGH
Wednesday, September 16, 1:30 p.m.
Before there was Marquette General Hospital (MGH) in north Marquette, there was a vibrant neighborhood full of family homes near St. Luke’s Hospital. A huge effort was made, starting in the early 1980s, to move the houses from West College and Magnetic streets in Marquette to allow for the expansion of the hospital. Cheryl Anderegg has found where 23 of these homes now rest. This presentation with Jack Deo will tell the stories of many of the families who lived in these 1920-30s homes. Photographs, maps, and research will bring together this tale of our community. Free daytime program as part of our popular Senior Support Series.
