Hancock, MI - The 48th annual Canal Run fundraiser took place Saturday in Hancock. The Canal Run featured several races from a half marathon down to a kid's dash on courses along Portage Canal and up to Quincy Mine.
This year proceeds from the race benefited “31 Backpacks,” a non-profit that provides food and personal hygiene products for at-risk children in Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga counties. Since 2017, the Canal Run Gives Back Program has donated $20,000 to nonprofits that serve Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga or Ontonagon counties.
