Mills preliminary exam scheduled

MARQUETTE, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for an Ishpeming man whom police searched for and found over the weekend.

Todd Mills, 31, is charged with two counts of operating a meth lab.  City Police say he was released from prison last year after serving time for a violent offense.

Police issued warrants for Mills’ arrest following a November investigation into a meth lab in Ishpeming.  Mills called the police department, saying he would commit suicide by cop and that he planned to hurt people.

Police found Mills Sunday night on North Street and arrested him.

Mills remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.  He faces up to 40 years in prison, if convicted as charged.

His preliminary hearing is set for January 25 in Marquette County District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
