CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   A former clerk for the Iron County Village of Alpha has pleaded guilty to embezzling money from the village.

Nicholas Rickman, 34, is charged with three counts of forgery, three counts of uttering and publishing, one count of embezzlement by a public official over $50 and one count of public officer-embezzlement or diversion of taxes or public moneys.

He allegedly forged a council member’s name on three checks that Rickman had made out to himself.  They totaled $510.

Sentencing is set for March 4 in Iron County Court.
