Fitzpatrick waives preliminary hearing

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man charged with home invasion has been bound over to circuit court.  

Douglas Fitzpatrick, 26, is accused of breaking into a home on the 500 block of West Washington Street in January and stealing property.  He allegedly talked about the crime before it was committed. 

Fitzpatrick is charged with second-degree home invasion, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $3,000 fine. 

He waived his preliminary hearing last week.  Arraignment is set for March 22 in Marquette Circuit Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
