Menominee man arraigned on explosives charge

MENOMINEE, MI--   A man police say had several explosive devices in his Menominee apartment has been arraigned on a bomb possession charge.

Thomas Bebo was arraigned Monday on the 15-year felony in Menominee District Court.

County Prosecutor Dan Hass says the 51-year-old Bebo hasn't posted a $50,000 bond and requested a lawyer during the arraignment hearing.

At least five devices were found by police Friday after a search of Bebo's apartment in Menominee.  Neighbors in the eight-unit building were notified, but an evacuation was not ordered.

Police were notified Thursday of threats apparently made to Bebo’s wife.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
