Peters found guilty

BESSEMER, MI--   The jury in the murder trial of a Bessemer man has returned a verdict: guilty. 

The decision against Kenneth Peters, 50, was reached Wednesday night in Gogebic County Circuit Court. 

He was charged with first- and second-degree murder and second-degree abuse of a vulnerable adult in the death of his 79-year-old wife, Ethel Grzena-Peters.  She was last seen August 3 in Bessemer.  Her body was found ten days later in Watersmeet Township.

A sentencing date has not yet been set. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
