Armed robber pleads to lesser charge in Iron Mountain

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   An Iron Mountain teen has pleaded guilty in connection with an armed robbery in August. 

Jacelin Sims, 17, is accused of being one of three suspects who robbed a West Brown Street resident at knifepoint.  The other two suspects have not yet been identified. 

Sims pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery.  He also pleaded to breaking and entering a vehicle with damage to the vehicle and larceny in a building in connection with two separate incidents after the robbery. 

Sentencing is set for December 3 in Dickinson County Circuit Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
