Sims sentenced for robbery

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   An Iron Mountain teen who pleaded guilty in connection with an armed robbery will spend time in prison.  

Jacelin Sims, 17, was arrested in August for holding a West Brown Street resident at knifepoint while he and two other suspects robbed the victim.

In an October plea deal Sims pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery, breaking and entering a vehicle with damage, and larceny of a building.  Tuesday he was sentenced in Dickinson County Circuit Court to 3 to 15 years in prison.  The judge said Sims could be eligible for the state boot camp program after 12 months. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
