Nassiri waives preliminary hearing

HOUGHTON, MI--   The Dollar Bay man accused of killing his Iranian wife has been bound over to Circuit Court.

Nima Nassiri, 34, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Sanaz Nezami.  She suffered injuries in a reported domestic assault and died December 12 at Marquette General Hospital.

Nassiri waived his preliminary hearing Monday.  His arraignment is set for Wednesday in Houghton County Circuit Court.

Nezami’s family allowed for the donation of her organs, which officials say saved seven lives.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
