Arbelius back in court later this month

ISHPEMING, MI--   A preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for the former Republic police officer charged with criminal sexual conduct.  

William Arbelius, 62, of Negaunee is accused of inappropriately touching an adult female in an incident in Ishpeming Township this year.  He’s charged with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. 

Each charge is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. 

The hearing is set for April 29 in Ishpeming District Court.    

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
