Marijuana grow operation found in Ontonagon County, two arrested

ONTONAGON, MI--   Two Minnesota men have been arraigned on drug charges in Ontonagon County, after authorities found a possible grow operation. 

Nicholas Schuckert, 28, of St. Louis Park and Stevie Ray Yanez, 21, of Minneapolis were arrested by deputies Saturday after firefighters found the alleged operation.  They had been called on a report of smoke or fire coming from a building in the White Pine Trailer Park.

Both men are charged with delivery/manufacture of marijuana, delivery/manufacture of 5 to 45 kilograms of marijuana, and two counts of maintaining a drug house. 

They remain lodged at the Ontonagon County Jail on $527,000 cash bonds. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
