FLORENCE, WI-- A Wisconsin man accused of threatening people on the Pine River Oxbow in Florence County has been charged.
On August 9 Gary Bovee, 70, allegedly confronted groups of people who were tubing on the river, pointed a shotgun at them, said the river belonged to him, and claimed he was the “king of America.”
Bovee was arraigned on 12 counts of intentionally pointing a firearm at a person and one count of disorderly conduct. He remains lodged in the Florence County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Officials say a loaded rifle and shotgun were found at the scene, along with 280 rounds of ammunition.
