Schoolcraft County men sentenced for operating a drug house

MANISTIQUE, MI--   Two Manistique men have been sentenced on drug charges. 

Shane Henry, 39, was originally charged with manufacturing more than 100 marijuana plants, conspiracy to manufacture more than 100 marijuana plants, and operating a drug house.  He pleaded guilty to possession of an analog drug and was sentenced Thursday to between 366 days and 24 months in prison. 

Jeffrey Durkin, 48, was arraigned on the same charges as Henry.  He pleaded to operating a drug house and received the same sentence. 

The two men and another codefendant were arrested by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team in June. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
