Kallio bound over to circuit court

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Ewen man arrested in a New Year’s stabbing in Marquette has waived his preliminary exam.

Casey Kallio, 26, is charged with assault to do great bodily harm less than murder.  He’s accused of stabbing Christopher Koory, 24, of Marquette when Koory tried to stop him from slashing the tires of vehicles on Washington Street.

Kallio faces up to 10 years in prison on the assault charge and one year for malicious destruction of property—a misdemeanor.

A date for Kallio’s circuit court arraignment has not yet been set.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
