Zintman to face trial in June

MARQUETTE, MI--   A trial date has been set for a Gwinn man charged with murdering his girlfriend in a fire last May.

Steven Zintman, 45, is accused of setting the fire in his Forsyth Township home while his girlfriend, Sally Plume, was still inside.  He initially stated no one was in the house but later admitted Plume was in the master bedroom.

Zintman is charged with murder and first-degree arson.  He pleaded not guilty to the charges this week.

Trial is scheduled for June 6 in Marquette County Circuit Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
