Driver arraigned for hitting patrol car in Chocolay Township

MARQUETTE, MI--   An Ishpeming woman has been arraigned for allegedly hitting a State Police car with her vehicle on M-28 last week. 

Carol Saari, 38, is charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and not taking care while passing a police vehicle in the March 6 incident.  She’s accused of hitting the patrol car while a trooper was conducting a traffic stop near Kawbawgam Road.  No one was injured. 

A pretrial conference for Saari is scheduled for March 26. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
