Sentence handed down to marijuana suspect

ONTONAGON, MI--   A Minnesota man has been sentenced in connection with drug charges in Ontonagon County last year.

Nicholas Schuckert, 29, of St. Louis Park was arrested after officials found a marijuana grow operation at the White Pine trailer park.

Schuckert pleaded guilty last month to maintaining a drug house.  Two other marijuana charges were dropped.

He was sentenced Friday to five months in jail and a year-and-a-half of probation.  He’s credited with 19 days already served.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
