ESCANABA, MI-- An Escanaba man has been found guilty of stabbing his wife to death last year.
After a six-day trial jurors on Wednesday found Kallay Batchelor, 37, guilty of first-degree murder.
On September 3 police found Heather Batchelor, 32, dead on her bedroom floor with a kitchen knife in her throat and its broken handle in her hand. The defense claimed Kallay Batchelor acted in self-defense during an argument the couple had, but the prosecution said he planned and executed the murder.
Batchelor faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Sentencing is set for July 1 in Delta County Circuit Court.
