Jaqua to be sentenced in September

MARQUETTE, MI--   Sentencing is set for a Chatham man found guilty of sexually assaulting a member of his family.  

Matthew Jaqua, 39, was arrested in February and charged with six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.  Judge William Carmody convicted him on all counts after a bench trial last week in Alger County Circuit Court.  Each count is punishable by up to life in prison. 

Sentencing is scheduled for September 19.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
