High-speed chase suspect facing charges

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two people remain lodged in the Marquette County Jail following alleged drug use and a high-speed chase in Ishpeming Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says Cassie Croschere, 22, of Marquette, was arrested after the chase Monday on multiple outstanding warrants.  She’s accused of fleeing a School Street residence and jumping into the driver’s seat of another person’s car while in a drug-induced state.  Police chased Croschere until she crashed the car and fled into some woods.  She was captured soon afterward.

Also arrested was Joseph Dupras, 31, who lived at the house.  He and an 18-year-old woman were taken to UPHS Bell for treatment of possible drug overdoses.  Dupras was taken into custody on a parole detainer.

Officials say they expect to bring additional charges against Croschere.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
