Man accused of practicing massage without a license bound over on additional charges

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   A former massage therapist from Iron River accused of practicing without a license faces additional charges in the case. 

On Monday Joseph Rankin, 25, was bound over to circuit court on another count of unauthorized practice of a health profession and obscenity.  After he had surrendered his massage license, Rankin allegedly performed a massage on a family friend and had sexual contact with her. 

Rankin is already charged with unauthorized practice and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct from previous court proceedings. 

Arraignment is set for October 17 in Iron County Circuit Court.    

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
