Trial set for home invasion suspect

ESCANABA, MI--   An Escanaba man charged with home invasion is headed to trial.

Harley Finnerty, 25, was arrested in June following the break-in of a residence on the 1400 block of North 20th Street.  He was found allegedly rummaging through a vehicle when officers arrived at the scene.

Finnerty is charged with second-degree home invasion, attempted second-degree home invasion, breaking and entering with damage to property, and two counts of stealing property less than $200. 

Trial is set for February 2, 2017 in Delta County Circuit Court.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
