Gutzman bound over on murder charge

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man charged with open murder in the death of a Sawyer woman has been bound over to circuit court. 

Darrell Gutzman, 51, is accused of stabbing Robbin Lampinen, 53, in her house on Dart Street last December.

WLUC-TV says at Gutzman’s preliminary hearing Wednesday the medical examiner in the case said Lampinen had been stabbed 24 times.

Judge Roger Kangas bound the case over to circuit court. Gutzman is set to be arraigned April 7. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
