MARQUETTE, MI--   A Negaunee woman accused of stealing drugs while working at UPHS-Marquette is facing charges in a separate case.

Emily Barker, 26, was arrested December 4 and charged with larceny in a building, four counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

A preliminary hearing is set for January 2, 2019.

Court records indicate Barker was also arrested November 20 and charged with resisting/obstructing an officer, three counts of operating while intoxicated with a passenger younger than 16, three counts of 4th degree child abuse, and operating without security.

A preliminary hearing in that case was adjourned when Barker was arraigned on the new charges.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
