DETROIT, MI (MPRN)— James and Jennifer Crumbley—parents of the Oxford High School student accused of killing four classmates last year—were in court Tuesday for their preliminary examination.

The prosecution started to lay out evidence against the couple. Both James and Jennifer are charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter.

One of the witnesses was Andrew Smith, Jennifer’s supervisor from work. Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald questioned Smith over a text conversation he had with Mrs. Crumbley on the day of the shooting.

“And what does it say?”

“OMG Andy he’s going to kill himself he must be the shooter.”

“And then the next text?”

“I need a lawyer at substation with police.”

“And then what else?”

“Ethan did it.”

Due to a scheduling conflict, the preliminary exam will resume on February 24th.
