Marquette jury convicts man of 60 child pornography-related felonies

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette resident has been convicted of 60 felonies related to child pornography, following a three-day trial in 25th Circuit Court.

Edward Charboneau, 52, was arrested in October of 2019 in Forsyth Township. Several digital devices were seized.

The Marquette County Prosecutor's Office says he was convicted Thursday of 28 counts of child sexually abusive activity, 28 corresponding counts of using a computer to commit a crime, two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and two corresponding counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

A sentencing date will be scheduled in about six weeks.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
