Marquette County man found guilty of sex, weapons charges

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette man has been convicted of criminal sexual conduct and other charges, following a two-day jury trial.

The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office says Jason Leist, 42, was found guilty of two counts of 1^st-degree criminal sexual conduct, discharge of a weapon in or at a building, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of felony firearms.

Leist faces up to life in prison. Sentencing will be scheduled in 25^th Circuit Court in about six weeks.
