Trial set for suspect in crash that killed 2

HOUGHTON, MI— A Covington man charged in a fatal car crash in Chassell last November is headed to trial.

Ryan Orzechowicz, 34, is charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated, causing death and two counts of reckless driving, causing death.

On November 4^th, Orzechowicz’s vehicle was westbound on Chassell Painesdale Road when it went through the intersection of US-41 and landed in a wooded area. The vehicle was on fire when police got to the scene.

Killed in the crash were 35-year-old Jennifer Rajala of Covington and 30-year-old Lacey Rajala of Chassell.

Trial is scheduled for July 10^th in Houghton County Circuit Court.
