Daggett man sentenced for getting drugs through US Postal Service

Menominee County Prosecutor's Office

MENOMINEE, MI— A Menominee County man has been sentenced to up to 15-years in prison for receiving drugs through the mail.

William “Billy” Strauss, 34, of Daggett was arrested in June of last year after UPSET detectives learned he was getting meth and fentanyl through delivered packages.

The U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office in Green Bay intercepted a package and obtained a federal warrant to open it. Inside was a red teddy bear containing 3 grams of crystal meth and 10 oxycodone pills. Investigators allowed the package to be delivered and executed another search warrant on Strauss’ home. They found him hiding in his basement.

Strauss pled guilty to possession/manufacture of a controlled substance. He was sentenced Tuesday in Menominee County Circuit Court.
