Man arraigned in death of Harley Corwin

ESCANABA, MI— An Escanaba man faces a murder charge in the death of an Escanaba woman.

Tavaris Jackson, 32, was arrested following the discovery of the body of Harley Corwin, 22, in Ford River Township woods on Saturday. Corwin’s friends say she was 7 months pregnant.

Jackson was arraigned on a charge of homicide-open murder in Delta County District Court Monday.

The judge set a $750,000 cash or surety bond. Jackson was fitted with a GPS tether before his release.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
