Ishpeming man bound over to circuit court in stabbing case

Marquette County Sheriff's Office

MARQUETTE, MI— An Ishpeming man accused of stabbing another man in a road-rage incident has waived his right to a preliminary exam.

Jonathan Jay Bluebird, 29, is accused of stabbing an out-of-state man July 13th near the intersection of Division and Main Streets in Ishpeming. He’s charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.

Bluebird appeared in Marquette County District Court Thursday but waived his right to a preliminary hearing. That means he’s headed to circuit court, but no arraignment date has yet been set.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
