Several suspects nabbed in Forsyth Township sting arraigned

MARQUETTE, MI— Four of the seven men arrested in a child sex crimes sting in Forsyth Township last Thursday through Sunday have been arraigned.

Vincent Roop, 61, of Newberry, Dylan Abramson, 21, of Houghton,
Hunter Trepanier, 18, of Gwinn, and James Peterson, 41, of Wallace are charged with child sexually abusive activity, two different felony levels of using a computer to commit a crime, and accosting a child for immoral purposes.

They allegedly tried to meet with a police decoy they thought was 15 years old.

Probable cause conferences are set for Thursday.

Three other suspects arrested in the undercover operation have yet to be arraigned.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
