Prison sentence handed down to woman found guilty of meth charges

BESSEMER, MI— An Ironwood woman convicted on meth-related charges in July was sentenced to prison Thursday.

Michelle Kitto, 54, was given 8 to 20 years for possession with intent to deliver meth, two counts of possession of meth within a thousand feet of a library or school property, and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver meth. The judge also sentenced her to 256 days for maintaining a drug house.

The sentences will run concurrently.

Kitto’s accomplice, John Wodie, is currently serving a 13- to 20-year prison term.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
