Arraignment held for suspects in Curtis shooting

MANISTIQUE, MI— The two suspects involved in a shooting in Portage Township Tuesday night have been arraigned in Schoolcraft County.

Benjamin and Lindsay Watts of Germfask are both charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and felony weapon possession. According to WLUC-TV, the victim’s family was visiting his mother in Curtis when the Wattses tried to force their way into the home. An altercation ensued between the victim and Benjamin Watts. Lindsay Watts apparently pointed a gun at the back of the victim’s head and pulled the trigger, but he turned his head and the bullet just grazed him.

Both Benjamin and Lindsay Watts have posted $10,000 bonds. They must wear GPS tethers.

A preliminary exam is set for February 29th in Schoolcraft County District Court.
