MENOMINEE, MI— A Menominee man has been sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison for threatening employees with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Last October, Asher McNeil, 41, called the agency to request assistance with his furnace. The MDHHS manager says McNeil became irate and combative when he was told the procedure for getting such help. He threatened to shoot anyone who came to his house and said he had explosives.
McNeil pleaded guilty to attempted threat of terrorism on March 28th. He was sentenced on Friday.
