Downstate man sentenced in Menominee County on cocaine charge

MENOMINEE, MI— A Traverse City man has been sentenced in Menominee County on a cocaine charge.

Raymond MacLeod, 39, was given 18 months to 4 years in prison.

Last October, Michigan State Police conducted a traffic stop on US-41 near Snow Road in Nadeau Township. During the investigation, a K-9 was deployed. The dog alerted troopers to 8 grams of cocaine in the passenger compartment.

MacLeod pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine in March.

He was sentenced last week in Menominee County Circuit Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
