Fired Ishpeming officer to be arraigned in circuit court for CSC

MARQUETTE, MI— A former officer with the Ishpeming Police Department has been bound over to circuit court on criminal sexual conduct charges.

Travis Hardwicke, 28, was arraigned on May 8 for felony 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct-force or coercion and a misdemeanor count of selling/furnishing alcohol to a minor.

At his preliminary exam Wednesday, the criminal sexual conduct charge was upgraded to 1st-degree CSC.

Hardwicke was fired from the department following an investigation by Michigan State Police.

Arraignment in Marquette County Circuit Court is scheduled for July 12.

Bail was set at $25,000.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
