Man sentenced for delivering meth in Gogebic County

Gogebic County Sheriff's Office

BESSEMER, MI— An Eagle River, Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 4.5 to 20 years in prison on meth-related charges.

Last December, the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team started investigating Justin O’Dell, 36, for distributing meth in the Gogebic County area. GIANT conducted controlled buys and tracked O’Dell with a GPS unit. Officers monitored his activities from the U.P. to Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. They stopped O’Dell’s vehicle when he returned to Gogebic County.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 25 grams of meth, a scale, and gem bags used for packaging.

O’Dell ended up pleading guilty to delivery of meth and maintaining a drug house.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
