Woman who pleaded to hitting, killing pedestrian on Interstate Bridge sentenced

MARINETTE, WI— A Marinette County woman has been sentenced in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on a Wisconsin bridge in July of 2023.

Alexis Clark, 25, pleaded guilty to hit and run, resulting in death. A charge of homicide by vehicle-use of controlled substance was dismissed.

On Friday, Clark was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 5 years of extended supervision. She apparently had alcohol and cocaine in her system when her vehicle struck and killed David Fournier, 48. He was a pedestrian on the Interstate Bridge.

At sentencing, Judge Peggy Miller said Clark showed poor judgment and little remorse for the effects of her actions on the victim and his family.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
